This class will be just the beginning of your desire to smock everything. From waistbands to arm bands, smocking is everywhere these days. We will get sewing on this fun project from “Weekend Sewing” with some super cute summer fabric and a spool of elastic thread. If you haven’t yet seen the amazingly cute dolls in the store you are missing out! These little ones are beauties and you can learn to make one too! You’ll learn to sew small spaces and curves, stuffing and finishing, embroidery for the face and make a little skirt if you’d like. Come by the store and take a look, you’ll surely fall in love! It’s that one–the one we keep offering, since you seem to just love it! We use the Favorite Things “cute skirts” pattern-a paneled skirt with a flat front waist and elastic in back. It’s a great first project if you’ve played around with your machine a bit. You’ll learn how to measure yourself to make the right size and have a skirt that you’ll love to wear. Make a super cute year round skirt in one evening! We will make a little girls skirt with out a pattern. This skirt will fit a little one 12mo-5yrs. In the class you will learn how to make an elastic casing and do a fantastic ribbon hem, also you will have the chance to practice some topstitching and edge stitching. These are tricks you can use on many projects and you will be whipping out skirts in no time. The Lazy Days skirt is a great quick addition to your little girls summer wardrobe line up.
