We welcomed Mahri to Team Bolt at the end of 2017 and she has learned the ropes quickly! She comes with experience managing a fabric store in Ashland, Oregon while earning a BA from Southern Oregon University in Theater Arts, with an emphasis on costume construction. Her knowledge of sewing runs deep and she is a serious lover of fashion history, tailoring and couture! Taught by her mother at 13 years old, she cut her teeth making “a lot of circle skirts,” and still has dozens of them. She’s currently on a jeans-making kick, perfecting the fit, playing around with style. When she’s at the store, she’s been enjoying the creative stimulation from customer she’s meeting every day, with their ideas and combinations of fabrics she never would have thought of. She’s excited for and generous with sharing her expertise and training with Bolt customers, so be sure to ask her any question you may have.
When not sewing, Mahri likes to cook, hike and check out lots of live music. She grew up going to music festivals with her folks, attending her first, the Strawberry Music Festival in California, at age 1! When not sewing or working at the store, you may catch her at the Pied Cow or vintage swing dancing at The Secret Society.
