All classes take place in the classroom in our shop at 4636 NE 42nd Ave, Suite C, Portland, OR 97218. Our classes begin promptly at their start time. Please arrive 5-10 minutes early to give yourself time to settle in. If you are going to be late, try to call the shop at 503-287-2658 and let us know.
All students will be asked to fill out a release of liability waiver before the beginning of class. We will have you read and sign it when you arrive at the first session of your class.
We require students to be at least 16 years of age to attend a class independently, or 12 years of age accompanied by an adult. All minors will need a waiver on file signed by a legal guardian before using the classroom. We wholeheartedly recommend Good Hand Studio for youth sewing instruction!
Full payment of class fee is due upon registration. In the event a student must cancel their registration, they must do so in writing to firstname.lastname@example.org. Bolt Fabric will issue a full refund up to 7 days prior to the class. If notice of cancellation is given between 3-7 days prior to class session, student will receive a 50% refund. Less than 3 days prior to the class we cannot issue a refund. We want to ensure that our teachers are compensated for their time and work, and allow students on the waitlist the opportunity to attend. No-shows forfeit any claim to refund.
Bolt Fabric reserves the right to cancel a class for any reason. In the event of a class cancellation, students will be refunded their class fees. We aim to compensate our teachers at a fair rate. This means we require a minimum number of students for each class. Low enrollment is one reason a class may be cancelled. If a class has not reached its minimum enrollment, we will reach out to those signed up to warn of the possibility of cancellation. A final decision will be made within two days after that, 3 - 4 days before the first class session. We will offer a full refund of all registration fees associated with the class, we can not refund or accept returns of purchased products.
Bolt is a safe, inclusive, and welcoming space for all. To ensure that our standards of behavior are met we reserve the right to ask anyone to change their behavior or leave if making disparaging, discriminatory, or damaging remarks, or making anyone in our space feel unwelcome or unsafe.
Bolt Fabric reserves the right to use photos and videos taken during classes, workshops, and other store events in Bolt Fabric’s publicity materials and social media. Registration in classes gives Bolt Fabric permission to use those images without further consent or compensation.
Sewing Machine Policy
If you have a beloved sewing machine that you just can’t work without and you’d like to use it during your class at Bolt, great! We ask that you clear it with us ahead of time (email us at email@example.com) Please ensure that the machine is in good working order and fully operational prior to your class. Please be fully versed in the use of your machine (threading, bobbin winding, operation.) We want to ensure we make the best use of everyone’s precious time while we are in class, and don’t want to lose time trying to figure out a machine that we aren’t knowledgeable or comfortable working with. If there are any issues with your machine during class we will ask that you switch to using one of our machines. We appreciate your understanding.
