This class meets 3 times. Tuesday May 14th, May 21st, and May 28th.
Shirt No. 1 from 100 Acts of Sewing is a great pattern to cut your sewing chops on. It’s easy to understand, easy to make, easy to alter and it leaves you sporting a super sweet blouse. In this class we’ll work through the pattern twice. The first time working exactly with the pattern as is. After you’ve made it once, you’ll get to make it again, but with your own spin! Perhaps longer, or tighter, or with a pocket, or with a few slices of the pattern and the addition of seam allowance you can now make it with a stripe of contrasting fabric!
In this class students will learn:
How to thread and operate a sewing machine.
How to lay out a pattern.
How to sew from a pattern.
How to use bias binding.
Simple options for altering a pattern.
Students will leave with two handmade shirts, one of which they’ve customized.
