This class meets 5 times. Saturday May 11th, 18th, 25th, June 1st, and June 8th.
Sewing your own jeans can be a life changing experience. Never struggle through too small, badly lit fitting rooms again once you’ve made your perfect pair of jeans. This workshop, taught by Bolt’s own Mahri Gray, will give you the confidence you need to embark on your jeans making journey.
In this class you will learn:
Tips for sewing with denim or twill.
How to make minor pants pattern adjustments and minor fit adjustments.
Zip Fly or Button Fly construction.
Western style pockets.
Installing jeans buttons and rivets.
Prior sewing experience is required to take this class. Please have basic pants/trousers sewing experience ie; pajamas, leggings, boxers.

2-4 yds 8-14oz denim (depending on pattern requirement and fabric width)
1/5 yd pocketing fabric
For zip fly:
Metal teeth zipper (5"-9" depending on pattern requirement)
For button fly:
1 spool Gutermann Sew-All thread or 2 spools Gutermann recycled polyester
1 pack Jeans Sewing Needles
Optional: Jeans Double Needle

Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of supplies purchased at Bolt. Please pre-wash, dry and press fabric according to manufacturer’s instructions to achieve desired fit.
