This class meets twice. Sunday July 28th and August 4th from 12 - 3 pm.

Mimi Miriam Made doll pattern is a great pattern to learn the basics of doll-making, because the pattern is so versatile. You’ll return to it again and again for beloved gifts or just a new friend for your child. In this class led by Autumn Lapour, the designer of the pattern, You will learn how to sew a custom doll. You get to choose the clothes, hairstyle, hair color, and skin color. Autumn will walk you through each step of the process. By signing up for this two day class you will be able to work on some details at home to really maximize your time during the class.

In this class students will learn:

  • How to follow and sew from a pattern

  • How to topstitch

  • How to use Heat n Bond to attach the hair

  • How to sew curves

  • How to sew a concave and convex seam

  • How to stuff your doll

  • How to embroider a face on your doll

  • How to use a blind stitch to sew up your doll by hand

  • How to finish seams

Materials List:

  • ⅓ yard fabric for the skin

  • ¼ yard fabric for pants

  • ¼ yard fabric for shirt

  • ¼ yard knit fabric for hair

  • Embroidery thread for face

  • Buttons for eyes

  • 1 bag stuffing

  • ½ yard heat n bond lite

This is an advanced beginner class. Students should know how to cut out a pattern and be comfortable using a sewing machine.

Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of supplies purchased at Bolt. Please purchase supplies in advance of the class, as it is necessary to pre-wash fabric to achieve desired fit.
