Make the Fiore Skirt

This class meets 3 times. Tuesday October 22nd, 29th, and November 5th from 5 - 8 pm.

Learn to fit and sew the Closet Case Fiore skirt. Choose which view you’d like to make: the basic flared view with an invisible zipper, the wrap skirt with hip pocket, or the button front view with patch pockets. Marla Kazell will help you get a great fit and will share professional tips and tricks as you sew your skirt.  

Lessons will include:

  • Choosing the appropriate interfacing and how to use it.

  • Inserting an invisible zipper.

  • Sewing smooth pocket edges, facings, and bands.

  • Fitting and sewing waistbands.

  • How to sew a hem both with a machine and by hand. 

This class may include homework for students to work on outside of class time. Included in the ticket price students receive 2 free hours of Open Sew per week of class. Open Sew times must be scheduled with the Class Coordinator via email.

Supply List:

  • The Fiore Skirt Pattern from Closet Case Patterns.

  • Fabric in yardage required for your size and view. Recommended fabrics include crisp wovens such as linen, chambray, denim, twill, poplin, lightweight canvas, and lawn. Please pre-wash, dry, and press fabric according to manufacturer’s instructions. 

  • Notions required for your view. (Please wait until class to buy interfacing)

  • Matching thread.

*Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt Fabric, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of class supplies purchased at Bolt Fabric and enjoy a 10% discount on purchases made on class days. Please purchase supplies in advance of the class, as it is necessary to pre-wash, dry, and press fabric to manufacturer’s specifications.
