This class meets twice, October 6th and 13th 11-4pm.
Learn more advanced sewing techniques and make a professional looking garment in this Fairfield Button-up Shirt class. This button-up shirt has all the classic details and a modern, moderately slim fit. The design features a collar stand, optional chest pocket, flat felled seams and a yoke. Choose between a center back pleat or a more fitted look with shaped darts. Learn all these techniques and end the class satisfied with your completed garment.
This class will include homework for students to work on outside of class time. Included in the ticket price students receive 2 free hours of Open Sew per week of class. Open Sew times must be scheduled with the Class Coordinator via email.
The Fairfield Button-Up Pattern By Thread Theory.
Fabric in yardage required for your size. Suggested fabrics include: cotton shirting, poplin, lawn, oxford, chambray, and flannel. Please pre-wash, dry, and press fabric according to manufacturer’s instructions.
Stacy Shape-flex interfacing (yardage on pattern.)
10 ⅜ inch or ½ inch buttons.
Two optional ⅜ inch buttons for sleeve plackets.
Two optional ⅜ inch buttons for sleeve tabs.
*Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt Fabric, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of class supplies purchased at Bolt Fabric and enjoy a 10% discount on purchases made on the day of class. Please purchase supplies in advance of the class, as it is necessary to pre-wash, dry, and press fabric to manufacturer’s specifications.
