The Burnside Bibs


This class meets 3 times. Thursday April 25, May 2nd, and May 9th.

Sew your own Burnside Bibs! This class is designed for sewists with advanced beginner-intermediate skills. Students will construct, from to start to finish, a versatile and easy fitting pair of overall bibs using the Burnside Bibs pattern by Sew House Seven. In this class students will make version 2 (no side zipper) with optional back pockets and darts in either the cropped or full length.

In this class students will learn:

  • How to trace your pattern pieces.

  • Proper layout and cutting with some fabric saving tips!

  • How to work through the pattern instructions and techniques.

  • Edge stitching and topstitching techniques.

Students will leave class with new sewing skills and confidence gained from the stylish pair of Burnside Bibs handmade by YOU!

Supply List for Version 2:

  • Burnside Bibs pattern from Sew House Seven

  • Mid-lightweight woven fabric in yardage required for your size. Suggested fabrics: for a utilitarian look: denim, canvas, stiff linen, or cotton twill. For a flowy version: Tencel, linen, wool gabardine. Please pre-wash fabric according to manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Swedish Tracing Paper or Red Dot Tracing Paper

  • Lightweight fusible interfacing

  • Matching thread

Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of supplies purchased at Bolt. Please purchase supplies in advance of the class, as it is necessary to pre-wash fabric to achieve desired fit.
