The Burnside Bibs

This class meets twice. Saturday November 2nd and 9th.

Sew your own Burnside Bibs! This class is designed for sewists with advanced beginner-intermediate skills. Students will construct, from to start to finish, a versatile and easy fitting pair of overall bibs using the Burnside Bibs pattern by Sew House Seven. In this class students will make version 2 (no side zipper) with optional back pockets and darts in either the cropped or full length.

In this class students will learn:

  • How to trace pattern pieces.

  • Proper layout and cutting with some fabric saving tips!

  • How to work through the pattern instructions and techniques.

  • Edge stitching and topstitching techniques.

Students will leave class with new sewing skills and confidence gained from the stylish pair of Burnside Bibs handmade by YOU!

Supply List for Version 2:

  • Burnside Bibs pattern from Sew House Seven

  • Mid-lightweight woven fabric in yardage required for your size. Suggested fabrics: for a utilitarian look: denim, canvas, stiff linen, or cotton twill. For a flowy version: Tencel, linen, wool gabardine. Please pre-wash fabric according to manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Swedish Tracing Paper or Red Dot Tracing Paper

  • Lightweight fusible interfacing

  • Matching thread

*Materials and supplies are NOT included in the price of the class. All materials are available to purchase at Bolt Fabric, either in store or online. Students will receive 10% off of supplies purchased at Bolt Fabric. Please purchase supplies in advance of the class, as it is necessary to pre-wash fabric to manufacturer’s specifications.
