Tissue Fitting for Tops

  • Bolt Fabric Boutique 4636 Northeast 42nd Avenue, Ste C Portland, OR, 97218 United States (map)

This class meets 3 times, November 4th from 4 - 8 pm, November 11th and 18th from 5 - 8 pm.

Solve all your fitting problems by learning to tissue fit your patterns.  Discover how to choose the correct pattern size, then cut out your tissue, pin it together and try it on.  Learn how to read the tissue and make adjustments for the back, bust, waist, hip, shoulders, upper arms and more.

Choose a tissue pattern for a top with set-in sleeves, with or without a bust dart.  We'll fit the tissue, then cut out your top and learn how to fine tune the fit in fabric. Then you’ll have the chance to finish your top in class or fit more patterns. Students may use any tissue pattern.

Measuring and fitting is done over undergarments.  You may also wear a close fitting camisole.  This class will include homework for students to work on outside of class time. Included in the ticket price students receive 2 free hours of Open Sew per week of class. Open Sew times must be scheduled with the Class Coordinator via email.
