The Ides of August (almost)

half way

--Melissa

I am elbow deep in pickles and quilt piecing.  How is your August thus far?  We will begin to feature back-to-school projects soon, but for now, I'm still relishing the last bits of summer.

News of Note:

*Modern Domestic will be holding monthly scissor sharpening events.  Drop off your scissors (or gardening shears!) between now and the morning of August 18th and they will be ready to pick up later that day.

*Just as a reminder-- next Saturday, the 21st the store will be open from 10-1 and then closed for the afternoon.  Alberta Street Fairl will be in full effect, so come out and have some fun.

*The good folks at Colette Patterns are running a fabric series this month.  My favourite post so far has to do with colour.  Did you ever have your "colours done"?  As a child I considered that on the list of dream jobs.

*We have already run through the first batch of Supportland cards and are working through our second pile.  Make sure to pick one up next time your in one of the many Supportland businesses around town.  There is money to save!  Rewards to collect!  The sign up is free.

*We would love to start showcasing projects from Bolt's flickr group here on the blog-- make sure you're adding your pictures to the group if you're using fabric or patterns you've picked up at the shop.  It's so inspiring to see and read about the things you're making.  We'll always ask permission to feature your photo, and we'll always link back to the source.
