Last-Minute Handmade

—by Heather

There is still time to make something special and useful for those on your list. Lined zipper pouches are easy to make, use very little fabric and are pretty much appreciated by everyone. I made this nesting set of pouches in just over an hour.

Gift them as they are, or fill one or two with a lip gloss, gift card or sweet treat—like my favorite mini-bar from Portland’s own Woodblock Chocolate.

Lots of great tutorials for the lined zipper pouch can be found online. I used a combination of several to get the gist of it. It’s pretty easy to figure out.

And don’t forget—napkins and scarves also make excellent last-minute gifts.
Yeah for handmade!
