Just in: Oilcloth, Jay McCarroll, Echino dots, Bella...

by Gina

At this piont it may be more efficient to fill you in on what’s not new.  We have been so busy rearranging the store every or every other day to make room for whatever had just been dropped off.  It’s a little nutty, but exciting!

You all have been eating up oilcloth this summer, so we’ve ordered more again.  The bin is chock full of fresh new prints and some ol’ favs.

I’m a big Jay McCarroll fan. I loved his last group, Habitat, and think I just may love this new one, Center City, even more.  The prints are named after different cities, including our very own Portland (are those pollen spores?), Denver, Boston, LA, New York, and his home of Philadelphia.  The colorways are cleverly named Uptown, Midtown and Downtown.  He has a wonderful video on his site showing off some of the inspiration for the line.  It’s well worth a peek!

Here are some of the Midtown prints.  You can view swatches of the prints on the Free Spirit site.

We’ve brought back in some favorites—Echino dots by Etsuko Furuya.  The color combinations are just so lovely.  They are printed on a cotton linen blend, perfect for accessories, home goods and apparel.

Other new arrivals include some gorgeous apparel fabrics: linens, wools, cottons.   Look for more light weight wools in the store this fall/ winter.  I’ve ordered quite a few really lovely pieces.  Also in is the complete Bella line by Lotta Jansdotter.  We have a number of her books in right now as well.  I’ve been dying to use the title “A whole lotta Lotta” since we ordered the line.  Well, now that we have just so many things, I couldn’t resist showing off more than her group!

Don’t forget!! We have the Alberta Street Sidewalk Sale coming up, we’ll surely have a lot of things out there for your viewing and purchasing pleasure!  Also, we’re collecting fabric donations for the fabric drive through Sunday, September 30th!
