Organization of the Month: Oregon Food Bank
We are really happy to be partnering with Oregon Food Bank as our Organization of the Month for November. Last year, Oregon Food Bank distributed 43.5-million pounds of food to hunger-relief agencies. On Saturday, November 23rd—two weeks from today—10% of the day’s sales at Bolt will be donated to OFB. Learn more below about their programs and please consider one of their many volunteering opportunities in the coming months.
Oregon Food Bank is so pleased to be part of Bolt Neighborhood Fabric Boutique’s Organization of the Month program for November!
Oregon Food Bank distributes emergency food to hunger-relief agencies throughout Oregon and Clark County, Wash. We also support innovative direct service programming through our Nutrition Education, Garden Education and Food Systems work. You can learn more about our Network and Oregon Food Bank programming here.
For the third year in a row, the Oregon Food Bank network distributed more than 1 million emergency food boxes to families and individuals in need. While it is tremendously important to OFB that no one is hungry, we know that true solutions to the hunger problem cannot come with simply more food. That is why OFB has renewed its focus on health and the right of all people to have access to healthy, fresh and affordable food. We also champion self-reliance through our education programming because we know that giving a family a food box today is not enough to keep them from needing a food box tomorrow. Finally, Oregon Food Bank advocates for change at the local, state and federal levels. Policy solutions that address hunger and poverty, and cultivating the public will to end hunger, are critical tools in OFB’s toolbox to end hunger.
Thank you for your support of Oregon Food Bank and Bolt Neighborhood Fabric Boutique!
