Just In: Incredible ikats from India, Art Gallery, Alexander Henry

by Gina

I have had a rule of not reordering prints for the last, oh say, 9 years. I try to push myself to reconsider rules I’ve set and see if they should still apply. I’m tossing this one out, somewhat. I’d still say for about 95% of the prints that come through the door at Bolt, they have one go at it. After all, there are always new things ready to take their place. That said, there have been some things that have been swept right on out of here so quickly, and people have asked about the, and well, they’re just great fabrics. And, they continue to be available, that’s a necessary part of the equation. So, let’s revisit some old friends, shall we?

From top to bottom: a cotton lawn from Alexander Henry (you’ve seen the Josephine sample in the store), a gorgeous ikat from Moda, and the ledger print by Carolyn Friedlander for Robert Kaufman.

How can anyone resist the glittery sugar skulls and other skeleton prints so well done by the folks at Alexander Henry?

Don’t worry, we still continue to have all sorts of brand spankin’ new things coming through the door all the time! This week we’re excited to have a nice selection from Art Gallery, with their silkier-than-others cotton.

One of the groups of fabrics I’m most excited about are the gorgeous traditional ikat sarees from India. These are incredible textiles, simple as that. (They  are also pretty challenging to photograph…)

Enjoy!
