Summer Menswear Outfits
Summer is just around the corner, and we have some great patterns for you gentlemen out there to snazz up your wardrobe! We have you covered in the fabric and notion department with various oxford shirting weight cottons, linens, chambrays, and more plus a rather dreamy group of denims on their way, with rivets and antique brass jean buttons. As is traditional with menswear, the details are key. All of our menswear patterns come with the bells and whistles to create a truley classic and stylish garment, and allow you to practice finishing techniques and technical detailing. The button-up shown here is a slight variation of one of the Five Frontier Shirts from Folkwear Patterns (shown here). I combined some details of a traditional western shirt with a traditional button-up to create this style for a good friend.
Mentioned in a past post on Menswear Patterns, here are some store samples of a great outfit pair from Thread Theory menswear patterns - the Jedediah Pants (shorts version shown here) and the Strathcona Henley T-shirt Version. These patterns have superb instructions to create a truley professional finish on your garments. Practice putting in a fly zipper, topstitching, adding rivets and a jeans button, and flat felled seams. If you tend to be more of a technical/mechanical person, you may discover this type of garment sewing to be extremely satisfying.
Stay tuned for a post later this week on the Negroni menswear shirt pattern from our local pals Colette Patterns.
