Level 1 : You can thread and operate a sewing machine.
This class will guide you through the process of sewing a pair of Cedar Pants by Leila Makes.
The Cedar Pants are gender neutral adventure pants with a subtle barrel leg shape, patch pockets galore, and a zip fly. Make them in one color or use the knee fronts as an opportunity to play with colorblocking!

Cutting fabric from a paper pattern
Installing a zipper fly
Sewing patch pockets
Sewing a crotch gusset
Adding workwear details like a carabiner loop/belt loops/hammer loop
Finishing techniques, including lots of (optional) topstitching!

Midweight fabric (5-10oz) such as twill, denim, or canvas
½ yard fusible interfacing
1” wide non-roll elastic (for length, use ½ of your waist measurement)
1× zipper: Instructor recommends getting a zipper 1” longer than the pattern instructions indicate!
1× 17mm button
1× ¾“ D-Ring (for optional carabiner loop)
Coordinating thread
Topstitching thread
Optional: Cool patches to personalize the pockets!
The amount of fabric and size of zipper you need will depend on the size you choose and the width of fabric. Refer to the pattern instructions for details.
