Embroidery Inspiration
By April
It’s nice to have an embroidery project in the works, it travels well and is a true way to sit and enjoy the art of making, one stitch at a time.
This is a vintage piece that I cherish and it inspires me. This is from a flour sack tea towel made into an apron. Grab a flour sack tea towel next time you are in the shop they make a great pallet for embroidery.
We carry this pattern from Anna Maria Horner. It includes directions on how to stitch all sorts of styles of embroidery stitches. I can imagine a great monogrammed gift from this lovely pattern.
Perle Balls of Floss are such a treat. No need to separate strands and great for projects that require lots of one color.
I recently took a camping trip here in Oregon, the river we camped on was just full of newts. They are so cute!
Sassy Spurs and Penguin and fish patterns shown above. We have a few other state patterns in stock from Sassy Spurs: California and Idaho. Each state pattern includes the outline of the state, it’s capitol, official bird, flower and a landmark of significance. You can choose to make the pattern as shown or pick and choose from the graphics. We carry Penguin and fish alphabet animal patterns from A to Z. These were just a few of my favorites.
Stock up on Floss for your next project. Road trip, long plane ride or lazy days of summer with the kids…. embroidery is a great way to go.
