A Really Cool Shop and a Few Local Events

By Sarah

Design and environmental stewardship go hand in hand at Artifact, a Portland  upcycled design store that sells, trades and consigns unique women's and men's fashion and vintage home decor and furniture. (no appointment is needed!) But that's not all, they have studio spaces for local craftspeople and designers to do their creative thang and even more, they offer their services in repairing your beloved vintage apparel. Artifact's Instagram feed is beautifully color coordinated and their blog features inspiring home tours of some of Portland's creatives. How cool are they! Check out their website here- https://www.artifactpdx.com

CORRECTION: Oops! We had our communication a little crossed and we apologize for the confusion from the first edition of this post. Portland Modern Quilt Guild is hosting a lecture/trunk show with Sandra Clemons (author of Scrap Patchwork). She will be holding a workshop on September 23rd in the Lagunitas Brewing community room, and this is open to all! You do not need to be a PMQG member to attend this sure-to-be-a-hit workshop. You will need to pay up for any beers you're hoping to sip on while at the workshop on the 23rd. Please refer to the PMQG site for more details here.

The Audobon Society of Portland will be featuring a free textile sculpture exhibit September 14th and through October. The exhibit is inspired by Elliott State Forest and its bird inhabitants and features the work of 15 artists, many of whom will be attending. Refreshments will be served on opening night, 5-7pm and neddle felting kits for making bird ornaments will be available for purchase.
