Hana-fukin evolved out of the traditional Japanese embroidery technique called sashiko. They are used as decorative placemats on trays, to wrap gifts, or as representations of affection. In this class Miyo Bookstein will get you started creating your own examples of this wonderful art form. You will finish it on your own outside of class.
