Brand new to sewing? Learn all of the basics, including accurate fabric cutting, how to thread and operate a sewing machine, and sewing a straight line.This class is suitable for absolute beginner sewists (we will cover machine basics), but would be fun for more advanced beginners as well! By the end of class you will have two scented eye pillows for relaxation. These could make wonderful handmade holiday gifts.
This class is part of our machine basics series and will cover threading and using a sewing machine. You do not need to know how to sew, or even have your own sewing machine—we will teach you! You’ll find more information about our class levels here!
Taught by Alex Behr. She is an experienced sewist who has completed more than 30 quilts of all sizes and styles. She’s made dozens of eye pillows as gifts, for donations/charity, and for retail sale. They never get old! Lately, she’s enjoyed dipping into garment and bag projects.
This class is suitable for Absolute Beginners and above. Ages 18 and up.
Our classroom is on the second floor and is currently only accessible by stairs. We are working on a solution to make our space accessible to everyone.
