Ice Dyeing for Garments

Saturday, July 18th
1:00pm to 5:00pm
Level 0: No experience required

Join textile artist Anna Joyce for an ice dyeing workshop at her Portland studio!

Ice dyeing is a variation of traditional tie-dye that uses melting ice and dry dye powder instead of liquid dye. You’ll learn the basics of how to set up a bath using powdered dye and prepare your textiles for dyeing. Anna will be approaching these techniques with a special focus on creating patterns best suited for garment making.

This class will be held offsite at the instructor’s studio in Southeast Portland, NOT at the Bolt Studio.
