This class assumes you are comfortable with a sewing machine and understand how to use a commercial apparel pattern.
If you’ve ever made a pair of jeans that fit poorly and you weren’t sure how to fix it, this is the class for you. Annika will help you adjust pattern pieces so that they fit correctly on your body. The goal of this class is perfecting the fit of your commercial jeans pattern to your body's measurements. In this class you will be learning the process of making a muslin to make adjustments to the fit of your pattern. You will learn the basic jeans fitting principles that you can apply on future projects and and you will walk away with a personalized pattern that you can use to make your jeans.
If you finish your pattern before the class ends you’re welcome to get started on a pair of jeans, but don’t expect to have a completed pair from this class. Annika will be teaching Jeans Making in the spring so keep an eye out for it.

This class assumes you know
how to operate a sewing machine
how to follow a pattern and make simple garments

Fit a basic commercial jeans pattern using a muslin
Mark fit alterations and transfer them to the pattern
Create a "ready - to - sew" pattern on fresh paper for your archive, including seam allowances and relevant assembly notes.
