We're so lucky here in Portland

For so many reasons we’re quite fortunate here in the lovely, most of the time grey City of Portland, but the one reason I’m thinking of right now is the number of highly talented, creative folks making and selling really cool things.  It’s great to have a selection of those things at the store too!  The most recent addition to the group of local fare is the Colette Pattern line.  So sweet, romantic, lovely and well designed.  We can also boast about the Chet and Dot goodies gracing our shelves–adorable buttons in the shapes of whales and umbrellas and apples, and the beautifully crafted pin cushions and covered tape measures.  What a special gift those would make!

We’ll be working on assembling a new little area dedicated to showing off the local talent.  In the meantime, check out the handmade dolls and felt banners by Autumn (patterns available at the store), the bubble skirt by Shelly (pattern also available), and the Farmers Market Tote by Sally, mentioned and pictured a few days ago (yep, you guessed it, pattern available).

As if that weren’t enough, there are three, yes, not just one or two, but three books out currently by Portland creative authors and they are all available at the store: Bend-the-Rules-Sewing by Amy Karol, Stitched in Time by Alicia Paulson and Button It Up by Susan Beal.  We’re so lucky here in Portland.
