Just in: designer apparel goods!

by Gina

I often joke around here about how fast April’s hands must move to be able to rearrange the store so quickly to accommodate new things.  She worked her magic again yesterday.  I came in this morning to find the huge pile of new tubes of apparel fabric shrunk down to just two pieces left needing a home.

I recently had a round of appointments with jobber who purchase fabric from designers and then parcel it out to retail stores and other designers.  This means we get some really interesting items that you may recognize from Banana Republic, J.Crew, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein…Let’s start showing them off, shall we?

Beautiful muted tones in these cottons.  A great bottom weight brushed twill on the far left, a super soft, grown up flannel in taupe (and we have navy too, not shown) from Marc Jacobs, two hand dyed gorgeous cottons, an embroidered piece and the J.Crew print cotton on the right.  I love the pop of the royal blue in there!

A couple of bold graphic heavier weight cottons.

I’ve started to dabble in poly prints.  Knits on the right, chiffon on the left from Banana Republic.  We also picked up a couple of solid color poly ponte knits in grey and red and a quite amazing silver sparkle red poly knit.  Perfect for so many occasions!

These beauties are silk cotton blends on the left to center and all silk on the right.  Lovely.

We’ve received a lot this past week.  In addition to all those great goodies, we have some organic cottons to show off:

A new line of organic cotton prints from Moda and new organic cotton flannel (it’s soft!) from Cloud 9:

And, not pictured, we have pieces from the Eiko line from Birch Fabrics, and more colors of those fabulous textured solids from Andover.

If you’ve started to think about and possible plan holiday sewing, we do have a nice collection of winter/ Christmas oriented prints for you.  Just ask, we’re happy to show you where they are!
