Pattern Promo - Tina Givens' Oprah

By Sarah

Psst.... letting y'all know about something cool that we're trying out. It's a brand new promotion that goes like this: when we publish a blog post promoting a current sample in the store that particular pattern will be 20% off for exactly 2 weeks from the post date. Cool, right?! To get the discount, all you have to do is mention the blog post to whomever helps you at checkout. By chance we run out of stock, don't fret, we will be happy to re-order for you with pre-payment and an understanding that delivery may take some time (shipping will be extra). Excitingly, for all of you out-of-town blog readers this promotion dutifully and lovingly includes you as well. When ordering online, just enter the specific promo code listed in the post. For this promo be sure to enter "tinasews" while checking out.

*Important:  We will not be promoting the discount in the shop so keeping up with the blog is essential for scoring the deal.

Now, on to the pattern review.

British pattern designer Tina Givens, is known for her voluminous silhouettes and feminine details.  She brilliantly combines sophistication and playfulness giving way to a dreamy and comfortable aesthetic.  We carry many of her artful patterns at our brick and mortar shop and several on our online shop.

The comfy Oprah drop crotch pant, made from a cotton twill with a lovely hand that we currently hold on the shelves.

Nice patch pockets and not to mention, easy pockets. ;)

The Sugar Slip is a separate pattern, shown with the Oprah. It is loose and stylish, great for fall layering or as a warm weather sun dress. It has pockets too! This pattern offers three hem variations including one that is ruffled, gathered or like the one shown here. The Sugar Slip pattern is not currently part of the promo, but may be featured in the future.

The romantic Oprah top is fun to wear and would be lovely in a light-weight linen or linen blend as well as a wool challis or gauze or choose a soft cotton double gauze. The pattern layout and cut is quite interesting- she has you fold the fabric into fourths and that stacked fold is where the neckline is placed, so you'll be cutting through four layers. Sharpen your scissors!

All three pieces are sewn up and are on display in the shop. You are always welcome to try things on in our dressing room (ok, it's a restroom) and check yourself out in our full length mirror, fancy! Ok folks, you have until 6:00pm on November 17th to receive 20% off OPRAH and remember to check the blog regularly to find out what great pattern will be promoted next!
