Improv Quilting: Family Album

  • Bolt Fabric Boutique 4928B Northeast 29th Avenue Portland, OR, 97211 United States (map)

$140

Another fabulous entry in Robin O’Neil’s improv quilting series. In this collage workshop you’ll make portraits out of fabric. There are no templates/ no patterns/ no photographs or rules except the ones YOU make.  Robin says, “We will make “pictures” from our imaginations. This will require no special sewing skill. The pieces can be appliquéd by machine or by hand or both in combination. We will use scraps and possibly favorite trims. This is completely FUN!”

Taught by Robin O’Neil.

  • how to thread and operate a sewing machine

how to sew a (mostly) straight line and maintain a ¼ inch seam allowance

  • how to sew ten different design units using improv quilting techniques
