Intro to Quilting: Ventanas Quilt

Three Sundays: October 11th, 18th, & 25th

During this three-session class, students will be guided through the entire process of creating a quilt from start to finish using Juli Rae’s Ventanas Quilt pattern.

Taught by Juli Rae.

    • How to thread and operate a sewing machine

    • How to sew a (mostly) straight line and maintain a seam allowance

    • Preparing and cutting fabric

    • Techniques for accurate and efficient piecing

    • Maintaining a ¼ inch seam allowance

    • Assembling the quilt sandwich

    • Basting

    • Quilting and binding

  • Upon registration you will receive a link to download the Ventanas Quilt pattern files. Please refer to the pattern to determine which version you want to make.

    Version A:

    • Color A, B, and C: ½ yard each quilting cotton

    Version B:

    • Color A and B: ½ yard each quilting cotton

    • Color C, D, E, and F ¼ yard (or fat quarter) each quilting cotton

    Both versions:

    • 47” x 47” Fabric and batting (for 42” wide fabrics you’ll need 3 yards to piece the backing)

    • ½ Yard quilting cotton for binding

    • Neutral or coordinating thread for piecing
