Level 1: You can thread and operate a sewing machine.
Play with improvisational appliqué techniques and make pictures with fabric! Students will start with a background fabric and learn handwork and machine appliqué techniques to make art quilt tops inspired by flowers. The class will work on a small wall hanging quilt (16”x16”). If there is time, they will assemble the quilt sandwich and start hand quilting with sashiko-type stitches.
There are enough sewing machines in the studio for all students to use in class. If you’d prefer to work with your own machine, feel free to bring it in!

Our classroom is on the second floor and is currently only accessible by stairs. We are working on a solution to make our space accessible to everyone.
