Tuesday and Thursday
July 28th & July 30th

Level 1 : You can thread a machine and sew a straight line.

In this two session class you’ll build confidence working with knits while sewing a classic, relaxed fit t-shirt.

The Jesse Tee is a versatile and size-inclusive t-shirt that can be made in two lengths.

    • How to thread and use a sewing machine

    • Basic sewing vocabulary

    • Sewing a straight line and maintaining a seam allowance

    • Techniques for cutting knit fabrics

    • Sewing knits on a domestic sewing machine

  • Scroll all the way down on the True Bias website to sign up for their newsletter and download the Jesse pattern for free! Note: This pattern comes in two size ranges, 0-18 and 14-32. Make sure you download and print the appropriate size.

    • Main Fabric: Knit fabric with 10% or more crosswise stretch such as cotton interlock, cotton/spandex blends, T-shirt jersey, or merino wool jersey. Structured knits will show off the boxy cut of the design more than knits with drape.

    • Neckline Fabric: Knit fabric with 50% or more stretch such as rib knit.

    • Coordinating thread

The amount of fabric you need will depend on the size you choose and the width of fabric. Refer to the pattern instructions for details.
