Intro to Quilting: Patchwork Potholder

Learn the basics of quilting, then sew a classic quilt block! We’ll transform your block into a beautiful and useful patchwork potholder.

Taught by Angela Creais

    • You can thread and operate a sewing machine.

    • Accurate cutting skills

    • Basic piecing for a quilt block

    • Chain stitching

    • Creating a quilt sandwich

    • Binding a thick edge

    • Using a walking foot

    • Pressing vs. ironing

    • 2 fat quarters or similar amount of quilting cotton

    • 1 ¼ yard Bias tape

    • Coordinating thread

    • Wonder clips or similar

Our classroom is on the second floor and is currently only accessible by stairs. We are working on a solution to make our space accessible to everyone.
